We Sell Seashells

A colleague shared this story and photo on Facebook and it impressed me so that I had to run it here.

In the beautiful Pacific Northwest , south of Seattle there’s a little gem of an island that’s so small you can walk the one loop road. It is called Treasure Island, and is so much fun to explore. One day, we came across two adorable sisters with their seashell stand.

If you read the handwritten sign, it says “six shells for a dollar.” Two dollars later we had selected shells hand-decorated with a smiley face, the words ” I love sunshine” as well as some with polka dot designs. We took six seashells, giving them an extra dollar for being so adorable in their earnestness. The girls were jumping up and down, feeling so happy and proud about their entrepreneurial venture. We wished them well and continued on our journey, although the island gets only about one car per hour!
