Singing Salvation Army Guys

There’s nothing like a couple of singing and dancing Salvation Army guys to brighten up a wintry day. Stationed in front of Penn Station on Seventh Avenue and West 31st Street, they literally brought cheer to everyone who passed by. Turns out their mini performance was part of a bigger promotion strategy, but I thought it was particularly clever and hopefully it did the trick by bringing in lots of donations.

The guys I saw serenaded passersby by dancing to Alvin and the Chipmunks Christmas Song.

They were adorable and brought a nice dose of lighthearted humor to the Salvation Army annual holiday fundraising effort.
